Blue surface // Solo exhibition

Blue surface (2019) a collection of paintings on canvas by Natalia Berezina was presented in the gallery of the Prezihov Voranc library in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The ocean is another world that always attracts us because of its mystery. The power of the ocean enchants with its endless calm blue and scares with the black destructive waves of an ocean storm. This collection of images shows both sides of the ocean - the soothing world of fantasy underwater plants and the dark power that can destroy anyone who can't control it. With this collection of pictures, I want to draw attention to the problem of loneliness among people who suffer from depression. According to statistics, almost 40 percent of people are prone to depression. And some not only get sick for a long time, but also commit suicide. I especially want to emphasize the problem of loneliness in modern society. When we don't notice the people close to us and their problems. People suffering from depression often describe their condition as if they were alone at the bottom of the ocean, a column of water pressing down on them, and there was no strength to move. But there is always hope...
